Working with Max over the past year has changed my life and my body. I am a runner, golfer, tennis player and basically a cardio junkie. I have 3 children, and I always believed that the more cardio I did, the thinner I would be. The problem was that I kept getting injured and couldn’t understand why. After another leg injury last spring, I realized that something must be missing in my exercise routine, and I asked a friend to recommend the best personal trainer in the area, and he suggested Peter Max Calder.
Max reviewed my exercise regimen and my diet and informed me in detail what was missing from both. He explained that in order to get the results I want, I would have to add strength training (i.e., weight lifting) and flexibility training (i.e., stretching) as well as make adjustments in my diet. I was skeptical that strength training would make me bulk up and add weight. In fact, the opposite has occurred! Not to mention that now I have no problem replacing a water jug in my office water cooler, which weighs over 40 pounds!
Max has instilled in me the importance of the right combination of strength training, nutrition, stretching and flexibility along with cardio. Max is so knowledgeable about the body and what is required to achieve the results you want. I highly recommend Max to anyone who is serious about improving their fitness and overall health. Peter Max Calder is one of a kind! Quite simply, the best fitness coach we have ever had. My husband, Ed, started working with PeterMax 10 years ago and since his involvement with Peter he has enjoyed a high level of fitness, without experiencing any injuries. Peter is extremely careful in tailoring exercise programs to ones age and physical capabilities. Very few trainers that we have worked with over the years are able to correctly supervise your exercise program in such a way to keep you totally injury free! When Ed is away from Peter’s care for more than a month he begins to develop various problems and when he finally gets back to see him it’s with braces on his knee, elbow, and back. Within a week, PeterMax has him back in top form and all the braces go back into the closet. It’s uncanny! In short, with his education, knowledge and dedication to detail, Peter has enabled us to reach our fitness goals.
